Monrovia Liberia: Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Yin Chengwu, has reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening scientific and technological collaboration with Liberia, positioning innovation as a key driver in strengthening bilateral relations.
Ambassador Yin made the statement during his address at the Liberia Technology Summit 2025, held in Monrovia.
In his remarks, Ambassador Yin outlined the outcomes of the recent Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
He emphasized China’s continued advancements in science and technology and announced plans to establish a global scientific research fund.
“China is committed to increasing science and technology assistance to developing countries,” Yin said, “ensuring that the fruits of technological progress are shared by all humanity.”
He expressed Beijing’s readiness to work closely with Liberia in the area of scientific and technological innovation, describing it as a potential “new engine” for the China-Liberia strategic partnership.
The Liberia Technology Summit 2025 served as a platform to explore emerging innovations, foster digital transformation, and promote international cooperation in technology for national development.
The event drew high-level government officials including Acting Minister of State Mamaka Bility, Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine K. Ngafuan, and Post and Telecommunications Minister Sekou M. Kromah, as well as representatives from United Nations agencies and diplomatic missions in Liberia among others.
