House of Representatives Endorses GAC Audit Reports on Twelve Government Institutions

Monrovia, Liberia: The House of Representatives has officially endorsed audit reports from the General Auditing Commission (GAC) on twelve key government institutions. The endorsement followed thorough scrutiny and validation by the Joint Committee on Public Accounts, Expenditure and Audit.

According to a press release from the House Press and Public Affairs Bureau, the decision was reached during the 13th Day Sitting of the 2nd Quarter of the 2nd Session of the 55th Legislature, held on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The endorsed reports include a variety of financial and compliance audits that cover a broad range of government operations. Among them is the Compliance Audit of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) for the period ending June 30, 2021, and the Financial Statements Audit of the CLSG-Rural Electrification Project, covering June 30, 2021, to December 31, 2022.

Also included is the Compliance Audit of the Liberia Opportunities Industrialization Center (LOIC), covering the fiscal years from June 30, 2019, through July 31, 2021. Other critical audit findings endorsed include the Auditor General’s Report on the National Disaster Management Agency for July 2019 to June 30, 2021, and a report on the Regulations Governing River Sand Mining Activities in Liberia from July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2021.

The endorsement signals the Legislature’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of public resources. It is expected that relevant recommendations contained in the audit reports will now be referred to appropriate institutions for further action and implementation.
