Lofa County: In a decisive move to combat drug trafficking, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) incinerated a significant quantity of seized narcotics in Foya District, Lofa County.
This action follows the interception of a major drug shipment on March 17, 2025, currently under legal proceedings at the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court of Lofa County.
The destroyed contraband included 772 plates of high-grade marijuana and eight boxes of Tramadol, with an estimated street value of $77,200 Liberian Dollars and $842 United States Dollars respectively.
The incineration of these substances underscores the LDEA’s unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs from Liberian communities.
LDEA Commissioner General, Anthony K. Souh, expressed gratitude to the County Attorney and the Joint Security of Lofa County for their collaborative efforts in this and other operations aimed at enhancing public safety.
He also commended Acting Chief of Leeward, S/A Precious Rue, for her proactive leadership and ensuring the agency’s representation during the destruction of the narcotics.
This operation highlights the LDEA’s dedication to safeguarding Liberia’s future by removing illicit substances from circulation and delivering a strong message against drug-related crimes.
The agency continues to work diligently with local and national partners to address the challenges posed by drug trafficking and abuse.
